لماذا يجب أن يفهم الشعب السياسة؟ كثيراً ما تُقدَّم السياسة للناس وكأنها عالم مغلق، لا يدخله إلا أصحاب المناصب والقرارات، وكأن المواطن البسيط مجرد متفرج على مسرح كبير لا يملك فيه دوراً ولا صوتاً. غير أن الحقيقة مختلفة تماماً؛ فكل إنسان يعيش داخل دولة هو جزء من العملية السياسية شاء أم أبى، لأن السياسة ليست مجرد انتخابات أو خطابات أو اجتماعات رسمية، بل هي الإطار الذي يحدد شكل الحياة اليومية للمجتمع. السياسة هي التي تحدد كيف تُجبى الضرائب، وكيف تُبنى المدارس، وكيف تُدار المستشفيات، وكيف تُحفظ الحدود، وكيف تُوزع الثروات، وكيف تُصاغ القوانين... ولذلك فإن فهم السياسة ليس ترفاً فكرياً، بل ضرورة من ضرورات المواطنة الواعية.
